04/10/11 A few days ago some of the actors got together to record some additional dialogue for Kenneth, a big thanks to Dan Vivash, Fiona Organ, Ed Dickinson and Stephen Mosley! Here is Stephen successfully recreating the noise a goblin would make whilst escaping from a human head.
Visual effects genius Mick Bahler has been tweaking a few of the scenes in Kenneth, so far he has added bulging veins to a pulsating forehead and made a swimming pool look like a grim Yorkshire river.

02/07/11 Say hello to Roy...
Here's the first images of what the ancient homicidal extraterrestrial villain from or next film 'Unloveable' will look like! All he really wants is to be loved!
And below is an early design for one of the other characters, the movies action man and village bobby, Gurturan.

27/03/11 Spring has finally sprung and as we all emerge from our winter hovels fatter and tear stained so too 'Kenneth' is emerging from its primordial raw footage into a beautiful, graceful long necked swan. Or to put it another way we are very close to having a locked edit. We will be having the mother of all meetings in mid April to go through the final tweaks and also several meetings to get the score started... which excites me very much indeed. Recently we received a request from The Brussels Independent International Film Festival to send a screening copy of our film 'Kenneth' to be part of this year’s shindig. Although we have had to regretfully decline in this instance (cos its not finished yet) it is an enticing glimpse of what lays ahead.... the award ceremonies, extravagant parties, fast cars, faster women, drugs, plastic surgery and ultimately a Charlie Sheen-esque breakdown leading to our very public deaths. Someone should write a film about it. Anyway, all jokes aside its full steam ahead with Kenna and we are working on two scripts at the moment, a short and a feature. The short is called Mr Calgary and has been mentioned previously on the site, its more of a technical/ visual experiment so requires less writing and therefore is almost finished. The feature has the working title of 'Splattermania' but we have been discussing a name change to 'Unloveable'... its going to be a rather insane script very much character driven with much more action than Kenneth. We are having a week in April of intense writing so watch this space for the usual badly drawn half-baked ideas that are ultimately abandoned.

09/12/10 - MERRY CHRISTMAS Kenneth is almost complete, we have nearly a full edit which just requires a few tweeks here and there, these will be done in the new year when our editor returns from his travels, (the last time we heard from him he’d been fighting rabid dogs in south America?). We also plan to start work on a new short film called 'Mr Calgarry', which will feature Astronauts, cannibals, monsters and time travel. So have a merry chrimbo and a happy new year, and check back soon. |

21/09/10 - Phew, almost there! The pick-ups went off without a hitch thank god, most of sunday was rained away, but we managed to get everything done and had time to shoot a teaser trailer (coming very soon). It was good to finally meet our editor Matt Hart (below) face to face, and watch him do some editing, I can only liken it to watching someone play a piano!
We shot the final scene which is mostly set on water, below you can just see the pony tail of our intrepid DOP Jenni suitiala poking over the edge of the boat, seriously if you ever get the chance to work with her you'd be crazy not to!
So not far to go now! Matt Hart is busy editing away, he expects a full rough cut will be ready very soon. There are some new production pictures available to have a look at too, if you follow THIS link and scroll to the bottom of the page.
In other news, we have over the last day or two had a radical re-think about our next feature project, we have added a new and very strange character, I won't say too much yet! During the pick-ups we also came up with the plot of a short film, which is absolutley crazy, watch this space. |

12/09/10 - Please don't rain! The pickups are less than a week away; I just hope it doesn't rain! We'll be using a miniscule crew for this (with matching miniscule budget).
We had three weeks for the original shoot and we managed to shoot 60 scenes, but it nearly killed quite a few of us. We only have a weekend for the pick-ups so it's gonna be hard work, but then we will be finished, woohoo!
There are some pictures from the main shoot on the Kenneth site, follow the link that says 'Production Pictures'! There are also some on our MIFL Myface page HERE. |

28/08/2010 - Pick-ups, Goblin designs and links We pulled off a small miracle in June shooting Kenneth in three weeks and with a budget of ten grand, but there were a few small bits that we missed here and there (oh, and the final scene!). So we are all going back to York for a weekend soon to finish it off, it'll be nice to see everyone again. In completely unrelated news, I got a Monster Island Films T-shirt for my birthday and it's cool!
I have put all our original designs for the Ear Goblin and some other things on a page for you to look at if you are interested, they can be found HERE
We received three more scenes back from editor Matthew Hart on Friday, it's still looking good for a rough cut, you can have a look at what else Matthew is upto on his site HERE For other links, including our Composers site, and Kenneth's entries onto various databases visit our Links page! |

25/08/2010 - Welcome to our new look site.
Our first feature film 'Kenneth' is currently in post production with editor extraordinaire Matthew Hart, we plan to have it completed (with a score by James Semple) ready for for christmas. For more information on Kenneth visit the site HERE
Kenneth stars Duncan Casey, Stephen Mosley, Terry May, Fiona Organ and Franco Flammia.
In other news our most recent project, which for now at least is called 'Splattermania' is currently being drafted, we aren't gonna give too much away yet, but here's an early design for one of the films characters....
