We have been receiving some amazing audition videos back, hopefully we will get a few more in the next few days so we can finally make some decisions! Then we can start working on the characters with the actors and also get them measured up for special fx and prosthetics, which is very exciting!!

Oliver and myself have both been trying decide on a definitive 'look' for the films monster, this is what we have come up with...

Above and below are Oliver's designs, he went for the Edgar Allan Poe style look!

Below is my design, a sort of mental green Guy Fawkes.

We will have to have a fist fight or discussion or something to decide which is best?

Oliver has also been out on his bicycle looking for locations, he's found some interesting looking places that look exactly how we described them in the script.

Here are some designs by Oliver for the special effects we'll need,

(above) We need an oversized cranium and possibly a prosthetic nose and fake tash for the monster!

The main character also needs various weird prosthetics for the horrendous things we have in store for him (below).

Well it's all systems go here at Monster Island Films. We have had literally some interest in regards to the roles on offer for 'Kenneth' and as you can see I've had my work cut out just trying to reply to everyone. We are still accepting applications with a view to making a decision at some point in December, to be honest we're still holding out for Sir Ian McKellen to apply for the part of the monster. Come on Ian... don't make this personal!

We kicked the scripts ass!

We spent the whole week working to finish the script, turning a 120 page rambling flabby couch potato into a lean and muscular 87 page chinese gymnast. Woohoo!

Actors and Actresses needed for feature film ‘Kenneth’ to be shot in June 2010.

• Male lead, male mid 20’s office worker type fed up with life and having a nervous breakdown. The film revolves around this character
• Female lead, long suffering girlfriend of main character who works as a waitress and is the ‘artistic type’.
• Male humanoid creature that is inherently evil and creepy. This role is open to all ages.
• Male mid 30’s to play alcoholic homeless man. Must be able to grow facial hair and willing to shave head. Drivers license necessary.
• Good-looking, well-preened male, mid 30’s to play office management type.
• Male early 20’s to play intimidating, violent youth. Driving license necessary.

In addition we are also looking for people to fill shorter roles:

• Male early 20’s to play waiter; this role involves difficult dialogue.
• Elderly couple to play lead males parents.
• Female mid 40’s to play lead females mother.
• Two late teenage males to play violent gang members.
• Four men mid 20’s to mid 30’s to play police officers.
• Male late twenties to play doctor
• Elderly Woman.

We also need a crew, so if you have any experience or interest in sound, lighting, editing, camera etc please get in touch.

Hello, welcome to the new-ish look MIFL website, we have added a few more projects to our projects page. The editing of ragged woods is still trundling along at a snails pace - but we'll get there.

The script for Kenneth is being re-re-re-revised, and we have decided to make a couple more shorts this summer.
